About Us

We are inspired by Mary Magdalene, a woman depicted in the Bible who did not fit into the stereotypical societal role of women at the time.

Her character has been famously polarizing, even sparking Pope Gregory I to brand her as a prostitute (without any solid biblical proof). Since then, her figure has carried this label, especially in branches of western Christianity. For us she represents the scrutiny of women’s authority misconceptions that we still face today.
